Counselling is normally done on a one-to-one basis, or with couples experiencing relationship issues, or with families that are having relationship problems. The counselling relationship is a confidential one in which to explore what is going on, how changes can be made and how to move forward.
I work in an Integrative way, drawing from the counselling theories to work with you as the client, the couple, the family – in the best supportive way that I can. The Integrative way describes a number of processes to look at the therapeutic relationship: the focus of the work, assessing and formulating how to work together, looking at communication, problem solving and coping strategies and the way forward after counselling has come to an end. Normally we would have an initial consultation and collaborate on how to work together.
